Biotin Hair Loss

Biotin Hair Loss
Hair loss is an embarrassing situation for most people that experience it.  Since ancient times, a full head of hair has been a symbol of strength, power, youth, and virility.  The loss of hair can be representative of losing these qualities.  And in today’s stressful, fast-paced society, it becomes even more difficult to keep a full head of hair.
There are many reasons for hair loss.  It has been proven that those who have a history of hair loss in their family are more prone to experiencing early hair loss.  Prolonged stress is also known to cause hair loss.  Certain hormone imbalances have also been shown to produce early hair loss.  In men, an excessive amount of DHT in the body causes hair follicles to shrink over time and eventually lead to thinning hair and hair loss.
Another often overlooked cause of hair loss is poor nutrition.  Studies have shown that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables provides better looking skin and shiny, healthier looking hair.  On the other hand, a diet that lacks proper vitamins and nutrients results in duller looking hair.  A poor diet can eventually lead to a general thinning of the hair and hair loss.
A proper diet, regular exercise and good hygiene are important to staying healthy.  It is important that the body gets a regular intake of the necessary vitamins and minerals.  One such vitamin is known as biotin.
Biotin is in the family of B-vitamins.  It helps the body metabolize carbohydrates, proteins and fats.  It is necessary for several important enzymes and assists in energy metabolism.  In addition to all of these great uses of biotin, it also does a wonderful job of making nails and hair stronger.
Biotin can be found in foods such as liver, eggs, milk, cheese, chicken, beef, and peanuts, though not in large quantities.  Many health care professionals recommend biotin supplements to achieve the necessary 5mg needed to help maintain healthy looking nails and hair.  Bacteria, molds, yeasts, algae, and some plant species normally create biotin.  This means that the natural bacteria that exist in our systems create the biotin that our body needs.
Biotin is so important to the production of healthy hair that dermatologists often prescribe Biotin supplements along with other types of hair loss treatments like Propecia, Proscar, and Minoxidil.
A diet rich in biotin will help achieve a healthy body and a resilient head of hai
