Causes of Thinning Hair

Causes of thinning hair
Thinning hair and hair loss are problems that plague millions of people all over the world.  Thinning hair has a host of different causes, but your genetic makeup is the biggest indicator as to whether or not you will be afflicted with early hair loss.  However, there are many ways to slow down or stop hair loss.  One of the most effective ways is through a proper diet.
Thinning hair and hair loss have many causes.  Aside from your genetic makeup, stress, diet, medical illnesses and skin ailments are all major factors in identifying the causes of hair loss.  Proper dieting and good hygiene go a long way in maintaining healthy looking hair and slowing down the effects of hair loss.
Diet in particular is very important to keeping our hair looking shiny and fresh.  But in today’s society, it is often difficult to figure out which foods are good for you and which are not.  In most foods that we consume there are a host of scientific sounding ingredients that are difficult to understand.  Just look at the ingredients on foods that claim to be healthy and you are bound to find at least a few ingredients that do not quite sound like they should be eaten.  They are usually explained to be preservatives of some sort, but are they really good for the body?
There are several types of foods that should be avoided in the pursuit for a healthy system.  Monosodium Glutamate is known to be a dangerous chemical.  It has been reported to cause weight gain, increased appetite, and other types of long term health problems.  Aspartame is another chemical found in many foods.  This too should be avoided as it contributes to weight gain, increased appetite, as well as PMS in women and migraine headaches.
Hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated cooking oils should also be avoided as they are high in trans fat.  Too much trans fat is known to be dangerous to the heart.  It also causes weight gain and contributes to hair loss.
Foods that have artificial colors are known to be bad for hair and general health.  Artificial colors contain dyes that are toxic to the body.
Artificial sweeteners like Splenda and Sucrulose, as well as foods that contain dextrose, fructose, and sucrose are chemically made, unnatural, and artificial.  These foods can lead to increased appetite, depression and allergies that cause hair loss.
It is best to consume foods that are natural and organic.  The more artificial ingredients that are consumed the harder the body has to work to absorb the necessary nutrients it needs to function.
