Hair Loss in Men

Hair loss is an issue that affects both men and women, young and old.   So how does one cope with the reality of losing their hair?  For many people, hair loss is an embarrassing part of life.  But there are those who know how to lose their hair with style.
In most societies around the world, hair represents power, virtue, youth, and strength.  The loss of hair oftentimes means a loss of these qualities.  But TV and movies seem to want to change that image.
Balding stars on TV and movies have been known to play some of the most powerful figures in entertainment.  Both young and old, hair loss has turned into a symbol of power, youth, and virility.  Major stars like LL Cool J, Taye Diggs, Vin Diesel, and Patrick Stewart regularly sport the bald or balding look in their works.
Vin Diesel made the bald look part of his signature bad boy style.  In films like The Fast the Furious, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Babylon A.D., amidst his impressive physique, baritone voice, and say-it-like-it-is attitude, his bald head is the finishing touch that completes his style.
And who can forget James Gandolfini’s portrayal of Tony Soprano in the hit HBO special The Sopranos.  In the show, Soprano is a made man in the Italian mafia.  Soprano is portrayed as a stressed out, overweight, balding middle-aged man.  Despite this (or perhaps because of it) Soprano is regarded as one of the most powerful and charismatic figures in the show.
It is no big secret that TV and movie stars have held popular sway on what is in style and what is not.  And it seems as if these stars have been seen making a very bold statement – bald is in.  Just ask Bruce Willis.  Heralded around the world as one of America’s best and well-known actors, he’s been sporting the bald look since the early 90s.
In case that’s not enough to sway you, take a peak at Brad Pitt.  The 45 year old movie star recently tried his hand in bald fashion in his newest film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
So just what is it about men losing their hair that is so trendy?  Perhaps we’ll never know the exact reason.  But for those of you out their losing your hair, all is not lost.  Bald is what’s in in fashion so walk tall and be proud.
